A customer from South Korea required several samples for anti-bacterial test. This week he told me that “We are compiling the results of our laboratory test. I heard that magriol is effective against fungi. It will be applied to our products.”
The tested items are: Honokiol, Magnolol, Honokiol + Magnolol, Matrine, Oxymatrine, Osthole.
He shared his test report with us.
Magnolol is a polyphenolic compound. It is found, together with the isomer Honokiol, in the dried rhizomes of the Chinese herb magnolia officinalis bark. They are found mainly in the Magnoliaceae family in amounts of about 5%. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcer properties. It is therefore used to prevent skin problems such as acne and pimples. At the same time, Magnolol has significant antimicrobial properties and strengthens cellular immunity.
A skin whitening agent that traps free radicals and inhibits tyrosinase activity, Magnolol has a wide range of applications in anti-acne and anti-inflammatory, whitening cosmetics, personal care and oral hygiene products.
