Baicalin is derived from dried roots of the plant scutellaria baicalensis. It is a fully water-soluble natural cosmetic raw material. Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, also named Chinese scullcap, is a herb of the genus Scutellaria in the Labiatae family. It usually grows in the desert or on the sunny slope. In China, Scutellaria baicalensis mainly distributes in Gansu, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi and others. Most provinces and regions in the north can be planted. The root of Scutellaria baicalensis can be used as a medicine. The main active ingredient is flavonoids, among which the content of baicalin and baicalein is the highest. Scutellaria baicalensis and its active ingredients have great pharmacological effects. Cosmetics mainly use its dried roots.

4. PMAnti-inflam® 9287 Benefits
- Baicalin Anti-allergic
Baicalin has significant anti-inflammatory activity. It can inhibit histamine-induced contraction of isolated guinea pig ileum. It indicates that baicalin has an antagonistic effect on histamine, thereby it has obvious anti-allergic effect. In addition, baicalin has an inhibitory effect on hyaluronidase (hyaluronidase is a mucopolysaccharide lyase, its strong inhibitor has anti-allergic effect). It shows baicalin with anti-allergic property. It can be used to relieve skin itching and skin allergy in cosmetics.

In addition, PMAnti-inflam® 9287 can also promote the phagocytic function of macrophages, so it can effectively remove dead cells, bacteria and other residues in acne, and accelerate the healing of acne.

- Other Baicalin Effect
PMAnti-inflam® 9287 not only have excellent anti-allergic effects, but also have the functions of sun protection, anti-aging and whitening.
The study has proved that SPF value of a sunscreen containing 24% zinc oxide (a light stabilizer) is 17.8, while SPF value is 22.7 when adding 5% PMAnti-inflam® 9287. It suggests that PMAnti-inflam® 9287 can be used as a safe and effective cosmetic sunscreen. It provides skin protection and prevents sunburn.
PMAnti-inflam® 9287 has a strong tyrosinase inhibition activity. It can reduce melanin formation of skin. So it has a certain whitening and freckle-removing effect.
