2. Skin Soothing Ingredient PMRelief® 9774 Botanical Source
Gardenia (Latin name: Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) is a common shrub in the Rubiaceae family. Its dried ripe fruits (called Zhizi in China) are famous as a great natural colourant, as well as an important traditional medicine to treat different diseases. It can clear away heat evil, reduce fire except vexed, and eliminate stasis to activate blood circulation. Gardenia fruits are a traditional Chinese medicine, which belongs to the first batch of medicinal and food resources issued by the Ministry of Health in China.
Panax notoginseng is a plant of the Araliaceae family, it is a precious Chinese medicinal material. The total saponins in Panax notoginseng mainly include three components: Panax notoginseng saponins R1, ginsenosides Rg1 and Rb1. - Anti-inflammation
NF-kB is the master switch of inflammatory response. By inhibiting the activation of NF-kB signal, inflammatory response can be well inhibited. Both Gardenia Florida Extract and Panax Notoginseng Root Extract can inhibit the activation of NF-kB, so as to achieve anti-inflammation.

- Anti-inflammation
Induce an inflammatory response by cutting zebrafish tail, then add PMRelief® 9774 sample for a certain period of time. The number of the transgenic neutrophil green fluorescent strain near the caudal fin was used to characterize the soothing effect of the sample.
Compared with the model control, the number of neutrophils in the fin region of the sample PMRelief® 9774 was significantly reduced, revealing that PMRelief® 9774 sample has a soothing effect. It can inhibit inflammatory response by 74%.

- Anti-irritation
PMRelief® 9774 can significantly inhibit skin irritation from capsaicin. It indicates that the product can significantly improve the skin’s tolerance to irritation.
As a surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is widely used in cosmetics, but is irritating on the skin. Plamed used SDS as a stimulant to verify the anti-irritant effect of PMRelief® 9774 through the chicken embryo chorioallantoic membrane test. The result shows that 1% PMRelief® 9774 can make the irritation of 0.05% SDS to HET-CAM from mild irritation to no irritation within 5 minutes.
