When I was in high school, biology is my favorite lesson. In the third year of high school, I took biology competition on behalf of school in Hancheng City and won the Excellence Award.
When I applied college after Entrance Examination, I chose biotechnology of Northwest A & F University as my major without hesitation. The university is famous for its alternative name: the Father of China’s Cloned Sheep.
It is very difficult for biotechnology undergraduates to find a job after graduation. Half of my classmates chose to attend graduate school. A quarter was engaged in some other industry unrelated to biology. The rest worked on biology-related. I belonged to the last group for my passion in biotechnology.
With a commitment to the biotechnology, I started to work as a technician in Acetar Bio-Tech Inc. in May 2005. Acetar was newly established at that time. General Manager Liu Kaihua took us to the road of start-up. Then in order to meet the developing of our company, I chose to be a salesman.
The major I’ve learned in the college played an important part. Manager Liu unreservedly gave us all of resources and patiently taught us how to be good people and how to work. Mr Liu is the guide leading me into phytochemistry industry, also is my first mentor in business. Wherever I go, I always show my respect to Mr Liu.
In 2011, I left Acetar where I worked for six years. To express appreciation to Mr Liu’s help all these years, I promised that I would neither set up company of my own within two years nor do products related plant extraction. During this period, I learned plant extract history and technology in foreign countries, and studied how to do plant extract business with internet thought under the new situation. Meanwhile, I thought a lot. Why did predecessors believe that phytochemistry industry cannot form its own brand?
In 2013, I founded Plamed Green Science Group. After two years’ research and investigation, Plamed produced nattokinase, arbutin and sarsaponin, cooperating with foreign manufacturing base.
At the same time, I was thinking about creating Plamed’s own product. In 2015, after the implementation of raw material planting base in Yunnan Province, Plamed developed technology of ginger after two-years experiments, and the trial production was successful. Finally, the product was successfully marketed.
Plamed’s orientation: Do not do the product supermarket, only do a ginger series, calm down to do the best.
Many manufacturers can produce ginger extract, but not all of them can achieve Plamed’s quality and price. Nowadays, Plamed has developed 8 kinds of ginger series: ginger essential oil, ginger oleoresin, high purity ginger gingerol, massage ginger oil, footbath ginger oil, shampoo ginger oil and ginger extract powder, etc.
After two-years effort, Plamed eventually worked smoothly. That moment, the brand idea in my heart came into mind again.
Shannxi Province is one of the birthplaces of plant extract industry, which made Shannxi very famous in 1990s. To build a brand needs to create the business of Shannxi extract again. We need found our own association. I talked with more than ten friends in the industry, such as Gui Jicheng of Xi’an Rainbow Bio-Tech Co., Ltd, Chen Deliang of Xi’an 4yecao Co., Ltd, Xiang Zhongsheng of Xi’an Dowell Co., Ltd, Jin Xiang of Xi´an Yuensun Biological Technology Co., Ltd and so on, about the idea of establishing Shaanxi extract association. As a result, everyone agreed with me.
Meanwhile, we received much support from venerable seniors, such as Director Xu Haiqin from XI’AN XIAOCAO BOTANICAL DEVELOPMENT CO.,LTD and CEO Shen Zhigang from Xi ‘an Honson Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
After one-year preparation, at the end of year 2015, Shannxi Plant Extract Association was finally established. I was honored to be appointed as the Secretary General for the first session. When the association was set up, I thought how to find the real and valuable phytochemistry suppliers quickly and make our own brand zone. Only when we have our own industry belt, a valuable enterprise will form its own brand.
In January of 2016, we developed the plant extract platform by ourselves: www.zhitiren.com.
The position of platform: The true factory, and we started to select the high quality suppliers and authenticate the quality. In order to help the friends find the true factory easily, we developed a function in Wechat to search for the high quality factory. The function is the first and the unique in the industry. Since the platform was established for two months, the background query record exceeded all our expectations. During peak hours, 500 inquiries were made daily. It quickly became the most popular platform in this industry! With increasing factories authenticated, the number is growing rapidly.
I start to think how to build Plamed brand based on the rule of the association and the plant extract platform. Only in this way, we could create our own brand, and other suppliers also can have their own brand possibly.
The team told me that the only way for us to make the brand is to create worth carefully and spread values through the platform.
After the fierce discussion, we separated the IT. team from the Plamed Green Science Group and we established the independent E-Commerce Company under Kiky’s charge.
I still lead the technology team of Plamed Green Science Group to earnestly produce nattokinase, arbutin, sarsaponin and cinnamon extract, and share the process we seriously create values by the IT platform.
I feel very fortunate, because I’m not far away from biotechnology area again.
My co-workers said that when the industry insider accepts the of importance of Plamed Green Science Group, the new brand will be formed. They said, “The advertisement era has gone, it is now time to spread through word of mouth. If you want to build a brand in the world, the only way you can do is to make quality and user experience perfect. The product includes the plant extract itself and cooperation experience of customers.
