Plamed Green Science Group stood out with strong technical strength in the 2025 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for Personal Care Industry! Plamed self-developed PMRefresh® Willow and PMSoothe® Kava97 won the “Ringier Technology Innovation Awards 2025 Personal Care Industry ” among 351 innovative products from 205 companies, and tied with BASF and other well-known companies. This is not only a high recognition of Plamed’s technology, but also the best praise for Plamed’s long-term commitment to the innovation and research of natural raw materials for sensitive skin.
Industry Benchmark: Ringier Technology Innovation Award
Ringier Technology Innovation Awards was founded in 2006 by Asia’s leading industrial media, Ringier Industry Media, and is one of the most credible awards in the field of industrial technology. In the personal care industry, the awards have been successfully held for 14 times. This year’s competition was particularly fierce, with a total of 205 companies entering with 351 innovations. After a rigorous evaluation by a jury of 15 industry experts (70% weighting) in terms of innovativeness, market prospects and other dimensions, as well as user voting (30% weighting), only 115 products from 91 companies won the award.
PMSoothe® Kava97: A New Breakthrough in Sensitive Skin Care
PMSoothe® Kava97 (Water Soluble Kava Pepper Root Extract) is a new anti-irritant ingredient with natural potent and strong stability developed by Plamed after three iterations and upgrades based on many years of in-depth research in anti-irritant field.
It’s produced by the exclusive SPEX technology, which significantly improves the activity and stability of the active ingredient. It works through two mechanisms (TRPV1, AP-action potentials) to simultaneously block the production of burning, pain and itching of the skin. PMSoothe® Kava97 mainly acts on the skin sensory nervous system, which can inhibit nerve excitation (inhibiting the expression of TRPV1 protein), and also block nerve signalling (inhibiting AP), thus achieving instant nerve soothing.
Moreover, multiple efficacy data show that PMSoothe® Kava97 can soothe a variety of irritating ingredients in the formula, such as retinol, salicylic acid, 377, a variety of common surfactants, etc., providing a safer and more reliable care solution for people with sensitive skin.
PMRefresh® Willow: Pioneering a New Era in Skin Care
PMRefresh® Willow is an innovative endogenous exfoliating ingredient developed by Plamed. Compared with traditional exfoliation methods, this product breaks through the “activation of autonomous skin metabolism” technology pathway, through the precise regulation of KLK7 content and inhibition of the expression of SPINK5, to achieve a mild and safe exfoliation effect, avoiding the common irritation problems of physical exfoliation, chemical exfoliation (e.g., salicylic acid), and biological enzyme exfoliation (e.g., pineapple protease), and other methods.
Clinical trial data fully validates its outstanding efficacy: The trial was conducted using a split-face control method for a 28-day usage test. The skin roughness improvement rate on the side with 2% PMRefresh® Willow was as high as 81%, and the skin smoothness increased by 21%. Moreover, in terms of skin brightness, stratum corneum exfoliation index, and epidermal thickness, the results were significantly better than those of the control group (p < 0.05), confirming that the improvement effect originated from PMRefresh® Willow itself.
In addition to human clinical trials, Plamed also tested the efficacy of PMRefresh® Willow on isolated pig skin and 3D skin models. The results consistently showed excellent exfoliating ability, approaching 50% of the efficacy of the control salicylic acid, further supporting its superior exfoliating efficacy.
This “endogenous exfoliation” innovatively proposes to “activate the skin’s own metabolism”, which not only can precisely regulate the rate of keratin renewal, but also effectively circumvents the shortcomings of the irritation of the traditional exfoliating ingredients, and thus has the potential to become the leading direction of the next generation of exfoliation technology.
