Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract is derived from dry bark of Magnolia officinalis. The main active ingredients are magnolol and its isomer honokiol. Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract has good skin-care biological activity. It can improve skin cell immunity, thus exerting anti-inflammatory effect. Magnolia officinalis (Latin scientific name: Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et Wils.) is a deciduous tree plant. The content of magnolol in different parts of Magnolia Bark is quite different. The total content of magnolol in magnolia bark and branch bark is 2.30%, and the total content of magnolol in magnolia root bark is 8.22%. However, Magnolia officinalis grows slowly and has a long growth cycle. Magnolia officinalis is now listed as a national second-level wild protected plant in China. Therefore, extracting magnolol from the plant causes serious damage to resources. Nowadays, there are also chemical methods for preparing magnolol.
